“On a personal note...”
”Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life!”
I find inspiration in the elements of age, decay and that which is worn. Structures in despair, oxidized metals, peeling paint and graffiti, and all that is tattered and torn. All that nature has eroded and society itself has condemned.
My work has included vast subject matter and a diverse use of mediums. When working in abstract form I feel a greater sense of freedom, it allows for endless inspiration and has no boundaries. With a canvas, inspiration, and various mixed media, keeping an emphasis on experimenting with new ideas, I take a step back from reality and put myself in a spiritual state and let art create itself. This enables me to explore color, texture, and surface more deeply. Beyond the use of materials and techniques, I strive to generate beauty and language while invoking a sense of emotion in which the viewer can identify. The process of painting, creating something out of nothing fills my spirit with accomplishment. I thank God for my artistic journey and all who enable me to create.
